The Cruce Golfo Dulce 28K ultra-marathon swim starts in Puerto Jiménez, the competitors cross the gulf to reach Playa Nicuesa and return back to Puerto Jiménez on the same route. Playa Nicuesa Rainforest Lodge’s pier on the other side of the gulf is the return point.
There will be two starts, the first one for the elite swimmers and the second one for the rest of the swimmers. The finish line will be located on water.

1. For your own safety in order to participate in the Cruce Golfo Dulce it is mandatory for every competitor to count with his/her own assitance team which should include a safety boat and its crew, power snacks, hydration, lights for the boat and swimmer.
2. You must provide a certificate that proves your previous experience in at least one marathon swim.
3. Present a medical approved endorsement that certifies you are in optimal conditions to participate in the 28K race.
4. Your average pace should be less than 2'20" each 100 meters or 23'33" each kilometer in order to be able to finish the race within the time limit.
5. Assistance to the safety talk the day prior to the race is compulsory for all participants, please make sure you attend to it.
IMPORTANT NOTES
1. The safety kayaker is not mandatory since you must have your own boat for assistance.
2. We recommend you to perform at least 2 night swims prior to the event, this since you will be swimming in the dark during the first couple of hours of the competition.
